No Training Wheels for Anamarie

Last Sunday Anamarie asked me if I could teach her how to ride a "2 wheeler". This was one of many requests from her, so this time I decided it was time. I took off her training wheels and dressed her in jeans, tennis shoes and a helmet; and she couldn't wait any longer. We went to the side street just north of our road and let her practice there because of the low traffic. I balanced her bike by holding the back of her seat, and to our surprise, she was riding her bike within a few minutes. She was so excited that she wanted to keep riding the entire night; but I only lasted for an hour. She was AMAZING!!

Partners in Crime

These 2 little cuties are always so happy together, even if they are constantly getting into trouble together. Here is just a few of their tricks in the last 2 months.
  • Playing dress up
  • Arrow of Light sword fight
  • Writing on the walls with permanent markers
  • Destroying the basement with a 50 pound bag of flour
  • Squirting shampoo all over the hardwood floors
  • playing slip in slide on gymnastics mats with dish soup
  • having a mud fight
  • having a water fight with lots of bottled water
  • going door to door asking neighbors for pop sickles
  • Sneaking out of nap time
  • Cutting hair
  • Brett's everyday event of the "lost hamster"
Yes, they were even under good watch when all these episodes occurred ;0

Snuggly Buddies

Anamarie wanted me to take pictures of her, Brett & William snuggling in Brett's bed. I must say the outcome of her staged pictures were adorable!!

First Day of School

My kids are getting older and it's freaking me out!! Taylor is in 8th grade at American Fork Junior High & Madison is in 6th grade at Deerfield Elementary. She was so excited when she found out that her teacher was Mrs. Nielsen. Taylor had her when he was in 6th grade. She is a teacher that pushes her students, but is very kind and loves teaching. She is the reason why Taylor loves school and loves to gets straight A's.

William's Baby Blessing

We decided to have William's blessing at our home during the Family Reunion. It was a more personal setting with close family & friends. It was so nice to have the Burnes family there, so we planned this around our Burnes Reunion. As Elders Quorum President, Brady was able to give this blessing at our home. We had the blessing on Sunday morning, August 15, 2010 at 9:00 am. Afterwards, we had a breakfast in our basement walk-out area. We ate fresh fruit, bagels, muffins, & juice. A perfect morning for little William.

Anamarie's Scriptures

Anamarie informed me that these are her scriptures; "As a Man Thinketh". So, the other night, I asked if she could read her scriptures to the family. It was quite entertaining.

Anamarie's New Boots

As we were shopping last night for Madison, Anamarie was convinced that she found her new favorite shoes ever. She even told me they fit her, after noticing they were 6 sizes too big.

Anamarie's New Dress

We went clothes shopping for Madison last night and Anamarie insisted that I buy her this "cute dress" ;) As you can see, it's lingerie. Her exact words were: "oh my gosh! Mom can you buy me this dress, it's so freaking cute!"

~ Gymnastics Pro ~

This was a huge trial for Madison. She has always excelled in gymnastics, but for some reason in early June 2010 she started slowly losing her tumbling skills one by one. She started losing her back hand spring tuck first, then slowly others, until she was to the point that she couldn't even do a single back handspring anymore. After 3 months of hard work, private lessons, lots of prayers and fasting; she got it back! We were so proud of her for working through this difficult time, and mastering perseverance.
