Yelling, Crying, Kissing. Yep, that's my life!

Some Days are REALLY HARD...

Brett William Heiner's Birth

Our little guy was born on November 29, 2008 at 12:11am. He weighed 8 pounds 10 ounces and was 21 inches long. Born in the American Fork, Utah hospital by Dr. Bean from Valley OB-GYN.

Brett gave us quite a scare with his breathing problems when he first came out. Basically his oxygen was cut off during delivery so by the time he came out he really struggled to breathe properly. Unbeknownst to me, they frantically called in many respiratory therapist to help him, but after a few minutes they frantically took him away were they tried to give him oxygen through IV's. After about 10 failed attempts to get the IV in, they finally decided they would have to perform a small surgery by taking the IV tubing into his body through his umbilical cord opening, and weaving it past all his main organs to get to his heart where they permanently placed it for the next 24 hours. After that, his health immediately improved. He still had to stay in the NI CU for 24 hours. I finally got the chance to hold my baby 5 hours later.

Brady wrote all about our first 24 hours with Baby Brett in more detail. click here to read
