Winter Wonderland in the Food Storage room

Yes, this is my life with 5 children, and yes, that is a 50 pound bag of flour. Brady tried to convince me to stay in bed most of the day so that I could recover from this uterus infection that I have, and I told him there is no way I could possibly do that with Anamarie and her little side kick Brett. Lately, Anamarie has been teaching Brett all her dirty tricks. As you can see she taught him the ultimate trick of all; the flour sandbox. Anamarie told me that her and Brett were going to the basement to play in the "playroom", but I guess they took a little detour through the food storage room. I could hear some commotion going on down stairs so I asked Maddy to go check on them. A few seconds later I could hear Maddy yelling at the kids to open the door. As she caught them in action they took off running to the basement bathroom and quickly locked the door; Anamarie of course. After a few minutes of her negotiating with them, they finally opened the door and ran back to their fun. Madison, completely frustrated, yells at me to "get downstairs now". I ran down took one look at both of them, and my first response put me into shock that I bursted into laughter. I tried to stop laughing; but I couldn't. In the 13 years of being a mom, I had never seen anything so shocking. Taylor & Madison never did anything close to this. Between breaths of laughter I told Maddy to go get my camera. Madison, who was totally confused with my reaction to all of this, reluctantly retrieved the camera, and I managed to snap some priceless picture that will make me smile for many many years. After cleaning up the kids, (which took about an hour because wet flour is like cement in hair), I asked Anamarie why she did that. She said because it was fun, it was like a sandbox. I tried explaining to her that our sandbox is outside and that she made a huge mess. I don't think she got it. Who cleaned that huge mess?? Maddy. She volunteered. An hour later she wished she didn't. The fun never ends;)

Baby William Brady Heiner is Here!

After a long awaited pregnancy William Brady Heiner made his debut on June 8, 2010 at 2:29 pm; on his mommy's birthday. Weighing in at 7 pounds, 6 ounces and 20 inches long. I was surprised that he wasn't a 9 pound baby because the size of my belly was enormous! Brady and I arrived at the Timpanogos Regional Hospital at 7 am. Dr. Ollerton broke my water around 8:30 am. After a few hours I was still dilated to 4 cm, so the Dr. started giving me small doses of pitocin. After a few more hours I still hadn't dilated, so he had the nurse doubled the dose to 4 drops of pitocin per hour; which was still a very small amount. 30 minutes later, I was dilated to 8 cm, and 30 minutes after that I was fully dilated and ready to go. The Dr. quickly came back, and with only 2 pushes baby William was here. There weren't any complications with the delivery or with baby William. However, he did have 5 large scratches on the top of his head and his nose was bruised. Other than that, he was completely healthy. The scratches probably came from the the tool the Dr. used when he was trying to break my water. With 5 failed attempts at trying to break my water because of a full bladder, once emptied, my water broke very easily. Taylor, Madison, Anamarie and Brett welcomed their new baby brother William with lots of love.

Brett left his Mark!!

Whether it's lipstick or permanent black marker he always has to "swipe" it all over his head and leave a permanent mark on himself. Yes, this was not easy to get clean, especially with his beautiful blond hair;)

Deerfield Walk (run)-a-Thon

Deerfield Elementary's annual walk-a-thon was May 13, 2010. Madison ran the entire 45minutes finishing strong with 30 laps; which was 5 miles. She was amazing!! She would have accomplished her goal of beating her last years score of 31 laps, however, they shortened the time this year.

Brett's Big-Boy bed

Brady, Johnny, and I finished Brett's new bedroom on Saturday around 1am. From bead board to crown molding to more crown molding, and built in shelves this month long project finally came to an end. We were so excited, yet nervous to see how Brett was going react to a non-confined bed. Sunday night, we put him in his new big boy bed with his Binky and his favorite blue blankey and to our surprise he rolled over on his side and went to sleep. The real test was to see if he would get out of his bed; he didn't. A week later, he still loves his new bed, and stays put all night. This was too easy!!

Brett says "Bu-bye"

Today Brett learned another word; "Bu-Bye". It was so cute and totally unexpected when it happened. We were in my bedroom when he decides to leave the room, but just before the door closes, he peeks his head through the crack and says "bu-bye". It was so adorable! I love that little guy; soon to be "Big Brother"!

Stuffed Animal duck-duck-goose!

I caught Anamarie playing duck-duck-goose with her stuffed animals the other night. She was getting ready for bed and decided she still had more time to play, so she quickly placed her favorite animals in a circle and touched each head. After choosing the "goose" she grabbed the stuffed animal and held it behind her as she ran, so she could be chased ;) Very Imaginative!

Baby push-ups

This is how Brett does his push-ups; on daddy's back. However, after a few minutes of watching daddy and Taylor do them, he actually figured it out. Anamarie joined in, and they did their push-ups together.

Taylor's Band Concert

This was Taylor's last Band Concert of the Year 2010. He's in 7th Grade Beginner Band at American Fork Junior High and he really excelled this year. For the first half of the year he played the Clarinet, and the last half he played Bass Clarinet; which he loved. The Concert went from 6:30-7:30 pm on Wednesday night. Taylor's band only played for 30 minutes, however, he had to stay for the rest of the concert which was worth 600 points; a big part of his grade. With Brett & Anamarie both on Brady's lap, I was able to enjoy the show baby free while filming and shooting pix. Kim and Janise came to support Taylor as well.
