Maddy's Science Project won; going to District!

Maddy was surprised when a 6th grade teacher announced her name as one of the winners of the Science Fair. The inspiration came from a silly YouTube video called "double rainbow".  Basically, it's a guy totally excited about seeing a double rainbow that he even starts to cry with joy. With over 24 million hits this is one of the most watched "clean" videos, so it was turned into a song as well. One night as we were singing the double rainbow song, the idea came to us, and Madison took the idea and ran with it. She had a brilliant idea that was so unique that her teacher said in all her years of teaching, she had never seen or heard this idea. Maddy designed her project around a simple question "how does shinning different colors of light through a prism affect the colors of the rainbow?" We have a spotlight with 4 different color lenses. She  discovered that by placing a red lens over the spotlight the output is only red. A yellow lens showed all the colors except purple, green showed only three colors: yellow, green & blue. The blue lens show all the colors with blue making up the largest amount of color. White light obviously showed a perfect amount of all the colors of the rainbow. With her originality and great presentation, this was a slam dunk for her. We are going to AMP up her presentation a little for District and I am so excited to see how far she goes.

BYU Basketball Fans!

Brady bought tickets to the best BYU Basketball game played this year. He took his two favorite buddies; Taylor & Madison. With matching t-shirts, nose bleed seats, and a very late school night; they had a night they will never forget.

Here's a recap of the game:
In what may have been the biggest regular-season game in his conference's history, Jimmer Fredette showed why he's on the short list for best players in the country. In fact, he might top it. Fredette poured in 43 points and No. 9 BYU earned its 10th straight win Wednesday with a 71-58 victory over fourth-ranked and previously unbeaten San Diego State

Brett's bathroom

Brett has a certain spot in the house where he likes to "do his business", and it's in the corner of a door and a small part of the wall in the main entry. He goes to this place everyday when he's feeling the urge to go "#2". He hides his face deep into the crack of the wall and grunts for about 30 seconds...I know, TMI :) It's so cute though. The funny little things kids do.

Baby William @ 7 months

This little guy is seriously the best baby ever!! He continues to sleep through the night, and is content & happy during the day, and doesn't ever cry except for when he's hungry.

He finally can sit up without falling over. He can grab his binki and put it into his mouth. He can do multiple roll overs. He makes my day when he sees me from across the room and lights ups with the biggest smile. He still prefers me over everyone else, I am sure that will change soon because of his two older sidekicks. He has skipped the whole baby food stage and went straight to solids :) I have tried every type of baby food and he wouldn't eat anything. I think it might be a texture issue with him. However, he loves graham crackers and baby vegetable puffs. He is our little joy that completes our family.

Family Night Bowling

A family birthday party for Brady! This was our first time EVER bowling as a family; and one we won't forget.

Some of the highlights were:
  1. Brett pushing his ball down the ball ramp, and as time went on he wanted to be a "big boy" and bowl like everyone else without the ramp. Making it a long night with his super slow moving ball.
  2. Anamarie's constant victory dances and poses before, after and during every time she bowled.
  3. Maddy's disappointment with her gutter balls, so we put the bumpers up for her :)
  4. Taylor's awesome spares
  5. Mom trash talking about taking first place.
  6. Brady's crying about taking 2nd place.
  7. Baby William just content in his car seat the entire time.
  8. Taking 2 hours to bowl 1 game.
Final Scores were:
  • 1st Place: Sarah 127
  • 2nd Place: Brady 125
  • 3rd Place: Anamarie 100
  • 4th Place: Brett 98
  • 5th Place: Maddy 95
  • 6th Place: Taylor 94
Notice that Brett & Anamarie beat Taylor & Madison :
It was a great family night!

William get's his first 2 teeth.

After days of constant crying and feeling uncomfortable, little William finally cut his first 2 teeth. The first one came through on the 14th of January and the second one the following day on his daddies birthday; the 15th.
Every single one of my children cut there first teeth @ 7 months old; very consistent.

A LAZY Sunday Afternoon.

This past Sunday we all headed up to Taylor's room to have a push-up competition, puzzles and games. I won the push-up competition...NOT. That trophy still goes to Brady, second was Madison, third, Taylor, and me; dead last! Brett also figured out how to take a band aid out of it's wrapper; it's a new technique :)

Anamarie's Sweet Moves!!

Yes, Anamarie can dance! Who would have thought that such big moves were inside this little package :) Watch her dance in this video; you'll be inspired to get up and dance too :)

Family Photos

We had the opportunity to get some great family photos done with Emily Lesher Photographer. She is a neighbor of ours who is very artistic with her photography, so I thought I would give her a try, and I was totally impressed!! Everyone was happy and easy to photograph, except for our little grumpy clingon boy, Brett. He would not smile in any of the pictures. In fact, she couldn't even get an individual picture of him, he had to sit on his dad's shoulders while she took pix of him. She captured the most amazing photos of all the kids and some great ones of the entire family too.
