Snow Flakes in the Bedroom :)

Yes, this just happened!! Every day that goes by, I try to be patient when something like this happens. Anamarie was inspired by the beautiful snowfall last night, and wanted the same effect in her bedroom. With an entire roll of toilet paper, 15 minutes of freedom (while mommy vacuumed), and creativity, Anamarie's bedroom became as beautiful as outside. I wasn't even upset, (I've had many episodes to practice this), but I told her she could continue shredding very small pieces of toilet paper, as long as she cleaned it when they were done. Thankfully, she and Brett already have her room looking tidy again. Brett is getting very handy with my new Skark hand vac, and loves vacuuming any chance he gets. What you see in the picture, is just a fraction of the "creativity". The beds, toys, stuffed animals were also decorated in beautiful whiteness as well :)

Boys are better than Girls!

Anamarie's informs me why boys are better than girls tonight:
Anamarie: "Hey mom, you know boys are better than girls!"
Me: "hmm, why is that Anamarie?"
Anamarie: "Because Jesus is a boy!"
Me: ____________________________

That's right, I was totally speech-less, there's no arguing with that response.
Jesus wins every time :)

Seminary Centennial Broadcast

Brady, Taylor and I enjoyed the 100 year anniversary of Seminary Broadcast at our church tonight. President Erying talked about how his mother was in the very first Seminary class in 1912. At the age of 16 years old, she must have been invited to attend that class as her own family was inactive. He showed the original attendance book with his mothers signature on the pages; it was a really cool story. Next was showing the growth of the Seminary program these past one hundred years. Showing a map of the world, starting with Utah, and branching out into the surrounding states, then almost every country in the world except the middle east has this Seminary Church Program, it was very touching. Boyd K. Packer was next to speak. During his introduction, I learned some very fascinating facts about him
  • He was born on September 10, 1924
  • He was a pilot in WWII
  • He received his B.S. & M.S Degrees from Utah State University
  • Received his Ed.P. from Brigham Young University
  • He and is wife had 10 children
  • 60 grand children
  • 78 great grand children
  • He became an apostle in 1970 at the age of 37
  • He became President of the Quorum of the 12 in 2008
He spoke on the importance of Seminary in the lives of our youth. He spoke about how our identity and gender was given to us in heaven before we came to earth and that our destiny here on earth is to love our gender, which converged him into the standpoint on homosexuality and how the church will never support same sex marriage. He talked on keeping yourself physically and spiritually clean. How the church designed the Word of Wisdom program back in the 1800's before they knew anything about the lasting harmful effects of Tobacco, alcohol, teas and coffees. That our bodies were created in God's image and we need to respect our bodies and keep them clean. He also mention to refrain from tattoos and piercings (other than ears)  because it's a form of disrespect to our bodies. He talked about how we all need to learn how to discipline ourselves, which derives from the word Disciple meaning "people who were devoted followers of a great religious leader or teacher of philosophy". His words were very encouraging and left me wanting to be better  to be the best parent to my children.

I am thankful for the scriptures by Maddy

The scriptures are such an amazing part of my life, I don't know what I would do without them. Whenever I have a question that I am begging an answer to, I open my scriptures and It always gives me an answer, and It might not be right away, but it will always come. The scriptures in these hard days are what I need to keep me going, It tells of so many great stories and facts to help me return back to my Heavenly Father. I know that the words in this book are true and I am so happy we have it on this earth today!!

Kindergarten Art

One of my favorite parts of Kindergarten is seeing the adorable artwork that comes home with Anamarie each day. This one was too adorable not to post. She's learning about the sounds of different things, and drew each picture as she made the sound. What an Artist!

Thankful For Technology :) My BFF by Sarah

I can't believe how far technology has come in these past 15 years! I am grateful to be here on this earth witnessing the fullness of many things, especially technology. From the Internet to the iPad, it keeps moving forward. I consider myself a tech junkie, and I love all the gadgets and devices that not only make our lives better, but they give us the ability to send data and communicate easier than any other time in history. For family night each week, we use our iPad and apple TV to watch inspirational stories of people on YouTube. Our favorites are the Mormon Messages found on their YouTube Channel, our kids love these! It truly is a gift from God! My wish is that everyone can use this gift for good to promote righteous messages and relationships.

Brady's 39th Birthday!!

I created this funny invite for Brady's 39th Birthday. Yes, That's Brady wearing "drag", and this picture has come back to haunt him!! He thought it would be funny to dress up as a woman for Halloween a few years ago, and I thought it would be funny to resurface this picture. I can't believe he found a dress and size 12 shoes that fit him. Notice the garments hanging out on the left side...LOL!!

Anamarie Turns 6 Today!!

Anamarie was so excited this morning because she was finally 6!! Last night her and I cleaned her bedroom because the birthday fairy called me and said it needed to be clean so she wouldn't trip over anything when she came to bring her a surprise. So with a spotless bedroom, Anamarie was so excited about the birthday fairy coming that she didn't fall asleep until after midnight. She awoke to a bedroom full of balloons and a massive birthday banner. She ate Mr. Breakfast Buddy (egg sandwich, banana and bacon)...

...Good Morning Birthday Girl!

She went shopping with me to pick out her cake and twisted candles.

For dinner we had McDonald's and salad.

Everyone singing the birthday song.

She was so upset that her little brother Brett blew out her candles before she could. So we re-lit them tried again...

This time ending in a successful candle blow-out for Anamarie.

The strangest thing happened tonight! The doorbell rang and Anamarie raced to see who was there. As she looked through the window she saw no one, so she opened the door and saw a wrapped present with Anamarie's name on it...

...The present was from Santa and this is what the letter said...
"Happy 6th Birthday Anamarie!! I wanted to give you this last gift. I flew it all the way from the North Pole so that you could have it on your Birthday.  I hope you love this one of a kind Genuine gift. Remember, it comes to life when you sleep. I hope you have fun with this Special present. I have been watching you and you have been a great girl. I am so excited to bring you lots of presents on December 25th. Only 12 more days. Keep being a good girl.
Love, Santa

After reading the storybook of the "Elf on the Shelf" Anamarie was the lucky one to choose his name "Dovee"

What a great night for Anamarie! Here's her presents from us and Kim & Janise.
